*cough* *sneeze* *sniff*

Well, for the past two weeks, I've been experiencing allergies ... okay, it's been for the past two months off and on. Unfortunately, this week has turned it into a summer cold-ish thing. Gotta hate being sick. Especially since I am constantly on the phone with doctors and dentists. My voice sounds awful and I cough every now and again. Yesterday was funny when I had to call an old office about finding out whether my records state I had a Hep A immunization. "Hello, *sniff* I'm looking through my immunization records *cough* and I wonder if you have on file *sniff* if I've had my Hep A immunization complete *cough*" Not the most enjoyable call. Okay, so those aren't the symptoms for Hep A, but that's besides the point. I've called doctors both in Provo and Mesa, plus my dentist's office a few times. I dislike doing that when I'm sick. Grrr... too much trouble. Still don't care much for it.

Stagehands have astonishing learning curves. It's not unusual for stage crews to have trucks full of unknown scenery arrive at a theatre on Monday, which we need to assemble and understand to open a show we've never seen before... on Tuesday night.

Most people, if confronted with such a task, would flatly say it was impossible.

Stagehands find ways to make it possible. We learn quickly, we draw upon years of experience, skills and training, and (all too often) we drink lots of coffee and work all night.

I've had one longstanding handicap in my career as a stagehand. I don't drink coffee.
