So ... I think I have a new favorite show ... but first, a list of my other shows.

It use to by CSI and House, but thoses have lost interest to me ...

Now, it is ... Pushing Daisies, Psych, Bones

And the new show is Fringe!

Obviously, I really like the crime scene type of programs. My favorite is Bones, but I like the comedy of Psych and Pushing Daisies.

One thing I really like about the crime scene programs is their cinematography, lighting concept, etc. It's quite impressive. That is one reason why I like Fringe because the film concepts are impressive.

Sick Week

Sigh ... I never get sick, yet for the last week, I've gone from a sore throat, to sneezing, coughing, sore muscles from working, and even light-headedness. I think I need to learn to drink water and take it easy working while sick. That may have been a problem with it lasting so long, because I kept working when I should have been resting. Oh well ... gotta love work!!

Anyways, I think I'm getting better. This week is going to be busy though. Joy joy! There is a career fair, two birthdays, Ballroom pre-tour, concerts to attend, etc. I look forward to it all, and I will be taking it easy.

General Relief Society Meeting

This Saturday, September 27, 2008, is the General Relief Society Meeting and my stake has been given a selective amount of tickets to attend. Three of my friends and I were able to get tickets and will be attending the meeting in the Conference Center. I am so excited!! I never thought I'd have the opportunity, yet here it is. With General Conference, this may be the first time since coming to BYU that I will not have at least one session in the Conference Center, but I definitely plan to spend both days in Salt Lake listening on temple grounds or in the Tabernacle or JSMB.

I am going through a lot of difficulties right now and don't feel like myself, but it is a great feeling to know that the Lord is always by my side. And these next two weeks I am able to hear from the leaders of the Church that can give me more strength and help me feel the love that radiates from this Church because of our beliefs in the true Gospel. I can survive any difficulty and times of loneliness just by remembering all the tender mercies given to me and embrace the warmth and love that come from the Sisters of the Relief Society. In all the touring I do, the best experience is always feeling at home with the Sisters. We are joined worldwide and what a comfort that is. No matter where my work may take me, I know that there is a place to meet each Sunday with people who always shares their love: love for the gospel and love for each other. Although events and people are coming in and out of our lives, we know one thing that stays steady: he love that God has for us individually as we can continue to learn from the Gospel.

Opera!!

Well, I have gone to the Music Dance Library to check out more operas and ballets. I've gotten another version of my favorite opera, La Cenerentola. Then I also got Don Giovanni because I have never seen it before and want to be a bit familiar w/ the storyline before beginning work on the show in the theatre department. And I got Magic Flute because I've been hearing a lot about it and should see it at least once. It really makes me want to attend one in the future, and oddly enough makes me want to be a spot operator for operas in the future. Maybe I should freelance for a while and try a lot of different aspects of the theatre. I hear spot ops have an easy job and get payed really well! Tempting ...

Also, I saw a version of The Nutcracker ballet the other day and it really made me want to see it. I actually wish I could see it with a boy (someone to cuddle up with) but that ain't gonna happen any time soon. Oh well. I do wish to work with ballet and almost wish I tried to take more classes in ballet ...

Hair Cut?

So my long hair doesn't seem to be doing anything for me. I like the fact that I have long hair, but it doesn't do anything for styling. I think I'm ready to chop it off. Okay, well actually I don't like how I look in short hair, but I'll be tempted to cut it short for "locks of love". I may wait another month or so. It just depends on when I finally get around to it.

World of Dance

It's been an interesting beginning. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life after graduation and I want to continue with the dance while finishing my major with the theatre department. I've decided to spend more time with theatre by helping with light hangs and focus. I will be working as a spot operator on the fall opera, Don Giovanni after already spending 30 hours working on lighting with Dial M for Murder. I didn't do much with World of Dance (even though I did put in 40 hours these past two weeks) and surprisingly, my job for performances was to sit in the tv truck and help give dance cues to assist in camera shots. I realize how much I don't know the dances because I am use to calling cues as they appear, not a minute before. I did take notes last night so I can do it confidently now. Originally, I was to sit at the lightboard and make sure nothing goes wrong, meaning I sit and do nothing all night. Thankfully I was pulled in to help with the filming.

I'm uncertain about what kind of job to look for after graduation. Do I want to go into dance, theatre, or film? I can do well in any field. I want to get a job settled before graduation, but where do I look? I'm keeping my options open and checking out different sites, talking with friends, and thinking of different possibilities.

Dance work

Stage work has finally started for the Winter 2008. Our first show of the semester is World of Dance. This year we are having it filmed for BYU Broadcasting. I spent my Friday and Saturday working in the office to make sure scrollers were built and ready to be used for the hang on Monday. I look forward to starting a new year with the dance department, but this will be my last year and I am restricting my hours to begin working more with the theatre department. At the moment, company assignments have not been officially made, but it would appear that I will probably be working with Dancers' Company to lend my assistance with the summer tour, for Mark and Benjamin will already be out on the Ballroom and Folk tours.
